Dear St. Luke’s family,
It has been good to be able to see more of our community come back together in person in the last week. I miss the sounds of children’s voices and laughter echoing through our church building on Sunday mornings. This pandemic has forced our formation program to become more innovative, but I have been pleasantly surprised at how well connected our community continues to be. If you all could see the children dancing during our twice-weekly Zoom Family Evening Prayer and dance party or our youth running through their houses to find items during our virtual scavenger hunts, you would all smile as much as I do.
After much thought, prayer, and conversation, I have decided that it is just too risky to plan for in-person children and youth formation in the fall. Under the Bishops’ plan for reopening, we are not allowed to have any in-person formation activities or programs during Phase II, which we are currently in, and there is no guarantee that we would reach Phase III and stay there during the fall formation semester.
If you have any questions about our fall formation plans, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
